INDEPENDENT THINKING / BY JO BARRETT

THE ENTERPRISE AGENDA

THE ENTERPRISE AGENDA

The questions worth asking.

The Enterprise Agenda is an independent editorial publication exploring how organisations create value through strategy, operating models, performance, leadership, people, artificial intelligence and organisational design.

Written primarily for Boards, CEOs, founders, investors and senior executives, it examines the decisions, assumptions and connections that shape how businesses actually work.

A place to question conventional thinking, challenge comfortable assumptions and explore different perspectives. Serious questions, independent judgement and the occasional bit of mischief.

Everyone curious enough to question how organisations work is welcome.

03 / HOW IT BEGAN

It started with a question. Then another.

After years spent working inside organisations, I found myself returning to the same observation: some of the most important questions were not necessarily the ones being asked.

Why do sensible strategies unravel in execution? Why do organisations measure so much and understand so little? Why do apparently good decisions sometimes produce entirely unintended consequences?

Those questions became articles. The articles became conversations. Eventually, they became The Enterprise Agenda: an independent place to explore ideas, challenge assumptions and look at familiar problems from unexpected angles.

The kaleidoscope seemed an appropriate illustration. Sometimes the pieces stay exactly where they are. It is the perspective that changes.

Occasionally, you may spot Casper, my miniature black-and-tan dachshund and unofficial Chief Design Officer. He has strong opinions about the artwork, although his approach to organisational accountability is questionable.

The Enterprise Agenda

Independent thinking. Better questions.
